Annual ladybug release at Chesterbrook

By Dana Grubb

SPECIAL TO THE BETHLEHEM PRESS

Students at the Chesterbrook Academy Preschool celebrated Earth Day 2022 with a 3,000 ladybug release in the schoolyard April 22. Center director Kim Day said it is an annual event that all Chesterbrook Academies do on Earth Day, and that it was her first time as a recently appointed director at the Hanover Township location. Day said that students were involved in a variety of ladybug related educational activities leading up to the Earth Day release learning about ladybugs, constructing paper ladybug crowns, writing about ladybugs, and applying “the full academics that the curriculum has to offer.” The students fascination with the tiny creatures was evident in all corners of the playground release area and the event was punctuated with a “Happy Earth Day” cheer from students and staff.
