EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. Ken (dad), Monika (mom), Lucas (brother), Rusty (dog).

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. AP psychology because I love learning about the body and why people behave the way they do.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. Principal’s Honor roll, academic excellence and second team all Eastern Pennsylvania Conference for football.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. Yes, I play football, basketball until sophomore year, flag football assistant coach, EHS lunch buddies program, EHS principal’s advisory board, EHS mentorship program, EHS Hornet Ambassador. Unfortunately, COVID-19 shortened my football season and since school was virtual for my junior year, many of the extracurricular activities were canceled.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Definitely my torn ACL injury I had this past September. It had a major effect on my life and future. It was more of a mental challenge even though it was a physical injury.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I am committed to Ithaca College and have been accepted into their Doctor of Physical Therapy program and will also be playing football there.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my aunt Paula. She grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., had a humble beginning, put herself through college and through hard work and perseverance, she climbed the corporate ladder all the way to the top during a decade that made it hard for women to reach that level. She also believed in living life to the fullest and was a great role model in my life.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who was always one of the hardest workers, someone who did the right thing and someone who was always positive.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. The sooner you get your priorities straight the better.
