Cub Scouting event at Putt U May 11

Now that it finally feels like spring and standardized testing has begun, it is starting to feel like the school year is starting to wrap up ... and we all know that tends to fly by.

We have many things lined up for students for the rest of the year and the countdown has officially begun (in our house anyway).

The Pennsylvania System of School Assessments continue for students in grades three to eight. Students will take the math component May 2 and 3 and those students in fourth and eighth grades will take the science component May 4 and 5.

Remember to encourage your student to take their time and do their best, while not stressing over it too much. Encourage a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast as always.

Salisbury Elementary School will hold its next Falcon proud T-shirt day May 6.

Interested in learning about Cub Scouting? Students in kindergarten through fifth grade can learn about Scouting and enjoy a discounted game of mini golf 4-7 p.m. May 11 at Putt U Miniature Golf, 5201 Route 309, Center Valley. The rain date is May 18.

If unable to attend the mini golf event, interested parents can find out more about Cub Scouting with Pack 146 which meets weekly 7-8:15 p.m. Thursdays at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1707 Church Road, Allentown. Stop in and find out what Cub Scouting is all about. Scouting is open for all youth in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Feel free to contact Patricia Yemm at pyemm2@aol.com or call 610-791-0983 for more information.
