After four years, Parkland School District has a new bus garage located near the football stadium at Orefield Middle School.

“There are nine indoor parking spaces for buses in that new space,” Nicole Mehta McGalla, director, community relations and development with Parkland School District said.

According to McGalla, “Across the way, we store 16 buses inside the bus garage. We have a total of 149 buses. The newest buses are garage kept and also the vehicles for special needs students are stored in the garage bays.”

The previous bus garage and 16 buses were destroyed or damaged in an early morning fire Feb. 23, 2018.

The new bus garage is now open and housing a new fleet of buses for the school district.
