Local townships hold joint recycling event

Combining a shared duty to residents, Upper Macungie and North Whitehall townships provided a household hazardous waste recycling event April 9 at Grange Park, Upper Macungie Township.

The program was sponsored by state Rep. Gary Day, R-187th.

Environmental Enterprises, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio provided the expertise needed to prepare the dropped off materials for transportation to a hazardous materials handling facility where the products would be rendered inert.

The program was open to residents of both townships but residents needed to show proof of residency with their driver’s license.
