Edward F. Tapper, 86, formerly of New Tripoli, died April 17, 2022, at Legend of Allentown. He was the husband of the late Juanita Tapper, who died in 2017. They would have been married for 64 years next month. Born in Passaic, N.J., he was a son of the late Richard and Evelyn (Kornhoff) Tapper.
He was an airline captain for the former Pan Am Airways for many years, traveling all over the world. He retired from United Airlines in 1995.
He honorably served as a captain in the United States Air Force for 10 years.
He was an avid boater and loved fishing.
He and his wife wintered for over 30 years in Key West, Fla. and loved traveling all over in their RV.
He is survived by his son, Eugene E. and his wife, Micki, of New Tripoli; a daughter, Diana J. and her husband, David Karlson, of Allentown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Evan F., a brother, Richard and a sister, Joyce Vitale.
