Kids sweep; a look at top performances
The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference released it’s fourth installment of track and field top performers for the 2022 season.
For Northampton, Ben Henry is third in the 100 and 200 with times of 10.8 and 22.5. Dylan Simon of Parkland has the top times in both events with a 10.7 and 22.2.
Shaun Apsley leads the way in the 300 hurdles with a time of 39.7.
Logan Henry has the top spot in the long jump with a distance of 22-7.5.
For the girls, Molly Lineberger of Emmaus leads the way in the discus with a spin of 103-5. Rebecca Coleman is fifth with a 98-1 for NHS.
In the javelin, Nazareth’s Kelly Leszcynski has the top throw of 139-5 and Reia Sanchez is fifth with a 105-2 for NHS.

The Kids recently beat Pocono East with the girls winning 99-51 and the boys on the winning side of a 94-51 score.
For the girls, Avery Peluszak won the 100 in 13.10 and the 200 in 27.30. Spencer Ellie won the 800 in 2:42.6 and Brianna Tyler won the 1600 in 5:48.60. Juliana Medei won the 3200 in 12:57.2.
The girls swept the hurdles with Morgan Kitz winning the 100 in 16.70 and Danika Cuchran taking the 300 in 50.50.
In the relays, Abi Enstrom, Danika Cuchran and Lindsay Reimer won the 1600 in 4:28.61 while Sarah Mele, Julian Medei, Jenna Caffrey and Hannah Bowers took the 3200 in 11:42.9.
Lucy Colyer won the high jump with a 4-7 and Olivia Hayes took the pole vault clearing 8-0. Tierney McCarroll won the triple jump with a 29-11.
Olivia Vajda won the shot with a throw of 29-5.25 and Rebecca Coleman took the discus with a spin of 93-9.
For the boys, Ben Henry won the 100 and 200 with times of 11.0 and 22.6. Brady Dolak took the 800 in 2:09.46 and Evan Dempsey captured the 1600 with a time of 4:48.40. Abel Veltri had the top time in the 3200 with an 11:01.92.
Shaun Apsley took care of the hurdles, winning the 110 in 16.2 and the 300 in 41.2.
In the relays, Shaun Apsley, Ben Henry, Victor Hunt and Julian Briody took the 1600 in 3:38.5 while John Breslin, Braden Korpics, Abel Veltri and Brady Dolak won the 3200 in 9:00.7.
Andrew Szeplaki won the pole vault clearing 10-0 while Logan Henry won the long jump with a 22-4 and the triple jump with a 40-7.
Gavin Nika won the discus with a throw of 114-6 and Samuel Duerr took the javelin throwing a 129-4.
