Coplay holds spring craft fair
The spring craft and vendor fair, sponsored by the Coplay Park and Recreation Committee, has been hailed a success by organizers and attendees alike.
A steady stream of shoppers was present throughout the two-day event April 23 and 24 at the Coplay Parkway pavilion, 2 Keefer St.
The fair included a basket raffle with items donated by the various merchants.
A promotional statement from the fair’s sponsors was, “Come join us and see what our vendors have crafted up over this chilly winter. Look for those one-of-a-kind gifts and associated items.”
Coplay Mayor Stephen Burker noted Mother’s Day and Father’s Day is just around the corner. He urged the public to come out and purchase something unique.
Nearly 40 vendors and crafters were present hawking their wares.
One notable vendor was Alana Danois, from Allentown, who operates Chingona Makes. She was selling candy and other homemade items such as purses. Visit Facebook and search Chingona Makes for additional information.
Also present was popular Coplay artisan Keith Sodl, who operates Zuzu’s Keepsakes. Sodl’s motto is “Quality Keepsakes To Cherish for Generations.” Zuzu’s offers Sodl’s paintings and woodcrafted specialty items. Visit Facebook and search Zuzu’s Keepsakes for additional information.
Stunningly detailed woodworking items were available at Woodcuts by Bill. He featured personalized signs, custom wood crafts and custom bowl turning that are all handmade. Call 484-264-1228 for information.
The Wanderer Supply Company operator, Ethan Hassick, of Allentown, was on hand selling an array of shirts, patches, buttons and key chains. Visit thewanderersupplyco.com to view his products for sale.
Another talented Coplay crafter was Tiffany Benson, who operates Crafty Creations. She offered a selection of household and other handcrafted items. Visit Facebook and search T’s Crafts and Creations.
Coplay Sports volunteers were on hand selling hot dogs, chips and drinks.
Proceeds from the event will be shared by several nonprofit organizations. The recipients will be selected by the Coplay Park and Recreation Committee at an upcoming meeting.
