On March 14, members of Whitehall Active Community Center, a senior center located at the playground building at 2301 Pine St., West Catasauqua, enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day Luck of the Irish party, complete with a free corned beef and cabbage dinner. Baked ziti was also an option.
The members were asked to bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry, located at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 3900 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall, to receive their free meal.
More than 40 people participated in the festive fun. Guests received beads and lottery tickets as part of the celebration.
Lehigh Valley Aging In Place also provided a “pot of gold” bag full of holiday-themed items.
During an activity, the lucky ticket was drawn by Whitehall Township Mayor Michael Harakal Jr.
State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-133rd, was also in attendance. She wished everyone a happy St. Patrick’s Day.
For other events, the community center shows a free movie 12:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.
