Bethlehem Interfaith Group (BIG) has announced plans for a Community Day of Prayer, and its second Faith Crawl tour of four local houses of worship.
The Community Day of Prayer will be held at 4 p.m. May 5, at Payrow Plaza, 10 E. Church St., Bethlehem. Faith leaders from a diversity of backgrounds will be present to offer prayers in support of the community. All are welcome; the event is free and open to the public.
Borrowing from the popular “pub crawl” idea of traveling from bar to bar, BIG will offer a Faith Crawl May 15. Participants in the event will tour four area places of worship via bus and learn more about the faith tradition represented by each space.
Wesley United Methodist Church, 2540 Center St., will be the meeting place and the first stop on the tour that runs from 3-6 p.m. The tour will also include stops at Respect Graduate School, Congregation Brith Sholom, and Lehigh Valley Friends (Quakers).
Due to security and parking concerns, all participants in the Faith Crawl must register online by Sunday, May 1 and travel via bus. If there is a mobility concern prohibiting travel on the bus, contact Pastor Nina Patton-Semerod at pastornina.ps@gmail.com by May 1.
All registration must occur on the online sign-up: bit.ly/374qFaZ.
Bethlehem Interfaith Group is an association of faith leaders from a variety of faith traditions in the community, working together for education, social justice and friendship.
