David A. “Whitey” Hartzell Sr., 82, of Orefield, died April 10, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Eleanor (Reichelderfer) Hartzell for 63 years last July. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Harold and Rhea Hartzell.
He was a truck driver for various companies in the Lehigh Valley for many years and worked at Impress Packaging in Emmaus, as a bander before retiring.
He was a member of the Breinigsville VFW, the Trexlertown and Fogelsville fire companies and the Rural Sportsman Association in Breinigsville.
He is survived by his wife; sons, David (Jacki), of Colorado Springs, Colo, Leslie (Dina), of Coplay and Darryl (Stacy), of Kempton; a sister, Linda Brearman (Walter), of Slatington; grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica Shurilla, Jenna Miller, Chris, Heather Steuer, Joe Thompson, Kyle and Austin; step-grandchildren, Danny Geisinger, Thomas Soto and Tiffani Boger; 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Douglas and brothers, Levan, Ronnie and Carl.
