Gerald “Jerry” J. Haines, 80, of Northampton, died April 16, 2022, at home. He was the husband of Joyce C. (Miller) Haines for 61 years.

Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Carl and Mary (Churetta) Haines.

He was a mechanic for Harhart’s Gulf Station, Northampton, for more than 50 years. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, before retiring in 2009.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Northampton.

He was a member of Tri-Boro Sportsman Club, Northampton. He was a life member of Northampton Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Terri A. Behler of Northampton; five grandchildren, Angela, Joshua with Katie, Jeremy with Laura, Jackelyn with Randy and Brandon with Jenna; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons, Edward “Eddie” M. and Thomas “Tommy” G.; a sister, Sylvia Haines; and four brothers, Carl, Richard, Edward and Ronald.

Services are private.
