Coplay: Yard waste collection will begin April 22
Coplay yard waste pickup is set to begin April 22.
Grass will no longer be picked up. There is a drop-off location at 1 Bridge St.
Drop-off hours are 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

There is a craft fair set for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 23 and 24 at Saylor Park, Second and Keefer streets.

The heritage committee of Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning a Viennese ball for 3-6 p.m. April 24. Suggested attire is black tie, including tuxedo or suit for men and ballgown or fancy dress with hair adornments for women. Enjoy an elegant event like Austrian royalty of the 1800s.
The Emil Schanta Band will provide entertainment.
The Saengerbund is hosting a Maifest (May dance) 3-6 p.m. May 1. The dance is a German celebration of spring and includes dancing around a maypole.
Additionally, the committee is planning its Oktoberfest event in September. Stay tuned for more information.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., will hold another meeting of the Kerygma program 6:30 p.m. April 24 in the church social hall.
A meal will be served, along with a discussion of the “You shall not commit adultery” commandment.

Coplay Borough is accepting applications for Parkway Pool lifeguards. The deadline to apply is April 29.
Also needed is a person or organization to operate the concession stand at the pool.

Street sweeping in the borough is scheduled for May 19 and 20.
All vehicles must be removed from the streets on sweeping days. Watch for the no-parking signs on your street on sweeping days.
