FREEDOM: “Curtains”

It’s 1959 and death stalks the stage in “Curtains,” a play-within-a-play musical comedy, 7 p.m. April 21, 22, 23 and 2 p.m. April 23, 24, auditorium, Freedom High School, 3149 Chester Avenue, Bethlehem.

Director Justin Amann is assisted by Assistant Director Natalie Parker, Co-Choreographers Joey Schubert and Vanessa Ruggiero, Vocal Director Denise Parker, Pit Director Mike Moran and Costume Designer Priscilla Salazar.

With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Rupert Holmes, “Curtains” is based on the novel by Peter Stone.

The musical premiered in Los Angeles in 2006. The 2007 Broadway production received eight Tony Award nominations, receiving one Tony Award.

Featured songs are “Show People,” “Wide Open Spaces,” “Thataway,” “A Tough Act to Follow” and “Kansasland.”
