A turn-of-the-century matchmaker arrives on the stage in “Hello, Dolly!,” 7 p.m. April 22, 23 and 3 p.m. April 24, auditorium, Bethlehem Catholic High School, 2133 Madison Avenue, Bethlehem.
Director Diana Tice is assisted by Assistant Director Rachael Leonard, Music Director Joseph Fink and Co-choreographers Julie Valenzuela, Rachael Leonard and Samantha Hoffman.
The musical is based on Thornton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker” with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart.
The original 1964 Broadway production was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, receiving 10 Tony Awards. The 1978 and 1995 Broadway revivals each received one Tony Award nomination. The 2017 Broadway revival was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, receiving four Tony Awards.
Songs include “Hello, Dolly!,” “Before the Parade Passes By,” “It Only Takes a Moment” and “Put On Your Sunday Clothes.”
