David Russell Hess, 74, of Schnecksville, died April 3, 2022. He was the husband of Barbara (Korutz) Hess. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary last December. Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Calvin G. and Mabel O. (Travelpiece) Hess.

He was a graduate of Berwick High School and the Allentown Electronics Training Center.

He proudly served in the U.S. 1st Signal Brigade and was a Vietnam veteran.

He retired from Verizon as a splicing technician in 2009 after 37 years of service.

He was a member of the Pioneers service organization and past member of Corvette clubs in the Lehigh Valley. He was a Corvette enthusiast, enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, nature and animals that surrounded his home and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Danielle and her husband, David Zimmerman, of Allentown; a grandson, Kevin. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald.

A service will be held 2 p.m. April 20 at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Call 1 p.m. until service time.
