Buffet breakfast April 24

Community Fire Co. No. 1, Schnecksville, will cook up an all-you-can-eat buffet style breakfast 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 24.

After two years of COVID-19 related cancellations, fire company volunteers were glad to resume the breakfasts in February and March.

Response was good, and fire company workers were glad to welcome back customers after the long absence.

The Schnecksville breakfast is known for its large menu, including homemade creamed dried beef, ham, sausage, home fries, pancakes, eggs, toast and beverages.

Another event which will return for the first time since 2019 is the Schnecksville Community Fair to be held June 21-25 on the fire company grounds.

Pastor Gordon Camp, Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, offers comments leading up to Holy Week.

“Even though the past 24 months have provided a turbulent news cycle, the news we rejoice in goes back almost 2,000 years and continues to overshadow everything else,” the pastor said.

He offered additional thoughts.

“What news could be bigger than that the world’s true King has defeated our greatest enemies forever? What news could be bigger than that life has triumphed over death for all who live by faith in Him?” Camp said.

Worship opportunities are 7 p.m. April 14 and 15 and 9 a.m. April 17.
