Martha M. (Raeder) Bolmer, 82, of North Catasauqua, died April 7, 2022. She was the wife of LeRoy J. “Lee” Bolmer for 60 years.
Born in Teaneck, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Herbert C. and Marie (Kaiser) Raeder.
She graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1957 and East Stroudsburg State College in 1961, earning a bachelor degree in elementary education.
She taught elementary students in the Emmaus School District and middle school and high school students in the Catasauqua Area School District for several years. She taught as a substitute teacher and high school remedial teacher in CASD. She worked at Wetherhold’s Shoe Store in the Lehigh Valley Mall for many years.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and later a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Balga of Bethlehem and Leslie A. Bolmer of North Catasauqua; three sisters-in-law, Nancy and her husband Hans Fehr of Hopatcong, N.J., Judith and her husband Robert Jones of Washington, N.J., and Gloria Bolmer of Easton; a brother-in-law, Peter Koppenhoefer of East Stroudsburg; four grandsons, Kyle and Zachary Balga and Emmanuel and Alexander Andrews; and several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by a sister, Anna L. Koppenhoefer; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stecker; and two brothers-in-law, Fred Stecker and Walter Bolmer.
