Work virtually or in-person in the adult literacy program. The Center for Career Pathways at the Allentown campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College needs adults 21 and older with a bachelor’s degree in any field to tutor in English as a Second Language, math, reading, writing, social studies and science. Where to take the bikes you are no longer using? Community Bike Works is looking for volunteers to coordinate bike drives within your family, workplace and social networks. They accept bikes in any condition. Their focus is 20-inch wheels and larger. If you gather the bikes, they’ll pick them up if you have 10 or more. Help make a visit to the Lehigh Valley Zoo an experience for guests to remember for a lifetime. Whether volunteering as a docent, with crafts and activities, zoo clean team or in one of the other volunteer positions, you are helping the zoo further their mission of conservation and education. Deliver meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities for Meals On Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley. Eight convenient pickup locations and pre-delivery training; routes start 10 a.m. each weekday. Join the family of volunteers and help improve the health, well-being and independence of those served. Every two seconds someone needs blood. Miller-Keystone Blood Center canteen attendants offer a drink and a snack to blood donors after the donation process is complete while ensuring the donor is feeling well for at least 15 minutes. Shifts available are noon-3:30 p.m. and 3:30-7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 7:30-11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Hamilton Donor Center, Allentown. Join the fight against sex trafficking in the Lehigh Valley. Support The Valley Against Sex Trafficking in the planning of the annual VOICES fundraiser. This event will be held Sept. 22 in Bethlehem. The Volunteer Center’s LEAD Now virtual program begins 4-5:30 p.m. April 25 and includes five different classes.
