Churches holding annual Easter egg hunts

Christ’s Church at Lowhill UCC, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, will hold its annual community breakfast and Easter egg hunt April 9. Rain date is April 16.

Breakfast will be served 9-11 a.m.

The egg hunt starts 11:15 a.m. in the grove.

Children of all ages are welcome to participate.

The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

They are also accepting orders until April 10 for their R&K hoagies and pretzel sandwich sale.

Hoagies include Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef and American, 12-inch whole grain roll with turkey and onion or whole-grain all cheese and onion.

Pretzel sandwiches are available in Italian, ham and cheese, ham and Swiss, turkey and cheese, roast beef and cheese, sweet Lebanon bologna and cheese, all cheese, chicken, egg, and tuna salad.

Pickup will be 3-5 p.m. April 20 at the church.

The church is also accepting orders for its homemade Easter candy sale until April 30.

Choose from peanut butter eggs, coconut creme eggs, peanut rolled coconut creme eggs, cottontails, nonpareils, sweet and salty, chocolate covered pretzels, raisin clusters, peanut clusters, peanut butter meltaways, available in dark and milk chocolates while supplies last.

Morgenland Union Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will hold its annual Easter egg hunt 1 p.m. April 16.

Everyone is invited to come and watch the youth hunt eggs and have a fun time.

They are looking for donated eggs for the egg hunt.

Egg donations can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. April 16 in the church kitchen.

The church will also be having a drive-thru Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue dinner 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at the church.

The cost of tickets will include half a barbecue chicken, baked potato and dessert.

Tickets are available at services Sunday or by calling Brenda at 610-398-1214.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, will hold its Easter at the Zoo event April 17.

Enjoy an egg scavenger hunt with wooden egg cutouts located around the zoo to receive an egg-cellent prize.

At each stop, learn a fun fact about a different egg laying animal found in the wild, plus learn about purposeful pet care from the zoo’s education team.

Enjoy acoustic music from Marc DeBoeser.

Do not forget to check out some of the custom-made Easter baskets in the zoo’s nature store.

Join the zoo for their Party for the Planet celebration April 22-24 sponsored by Cougle’s Recycling, Inc.

Take part in a scavenger hunt Saturday and Sunday by traveling around the zoo to different stations to learn about conservation and be entered to win a prize.

Bring a camera to take photos and say hello to the zoo’s mascot Radley the sea turtle and learn about their #KNOWPLASTICS campaign.

Stop by the interactive exhibits to learn about some of the animals that call the zoo home, plus check out the Earth Day themed crafts and interactive games and activities.
