From April 4-8, the Emmaus High School Library will hold a puzzle contest to celebrate National Library Week. Each day, a new puzzle will be available for students to complete and submit to the library by 2:30 p.m.
Those who submit puzzles will then be entered into a daily raffle for Wawa gift cards. Students and faculty are eligible to participate. Contact kbower@eastpennsd.org with questions.
The Interact Club is looking for students to fill Easter eggs 2:30-3 p.m. April 7 in Room 524.
The eggs will go toward an Easter Egg Hunt at Macungie’s Kalmbach Park April 9; volunteers are also needed for the egg hunt.
Interested students can find times, details and contact information in the Interact Club Schoology course.
No Place for Hate, a program supporting positive change in school communities, invites new and current members to its April 7 meeting to plan the Day of Silence. Additionally, No Place for Hate invites students from other clubs, such as Student Government Association, to collaborate on the event. The meeting will be held 2:30 p.m. in Room 573.
The Mud Club will host its annual Empty Bowls Event 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 9. At the event, EHS students, families and friends may purchase one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls created by the Mud Club, then enjoy soup and bread from local restaurants. For a preview of this year’s bowl selection, a slideshow is linked in the EHS announcements. The Mud Club also notes Ms. Caruso, the event coordinator, will retire at the end of this school year; future Empty Bowl events are not guaranteed, so interested students are recommended to visit this year.
The Student Government Association is recruiting current freshmen for the 2022-2023 school year. Students should follow a two-step application process: first, fill out the Google form in the EHS announcements, then return signature sheets to Rooms 442 and 537. All applications are due by 2:25 p.m. April 20. Questions may be directed to rbaxter@eastpennsd.org or mmontero@eastpennsd.org.
The World Language Honor Society will hold its induction ceremony 7-9 p.m. April 21 in the EHS auditorium.
The Red Cross Club is holding a raffle fundraiser to support Tonga, a Polynesian island recently affected by natural disasters. Prizes include three Squishmallow plush toys of different sizes. Tickets can be purchased during all lunch periods outside the cafeteria doors and winners will be drawn April 28.
For applicants to The Stinger: ensure that you have signed up for an interview spot with Ms. Reaman. The interview sign-up sheet is posted outside Room 559.
