Warren R. Whitney, 75, of Macungie, died unexpectedly March 30, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis (Jones) Whitney for 51 years. Born in Lakewood, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ralph and LaVerne (Kinzel) Whitney.

He was a graduate of Bucknell University, earning a degree in economics.

He worked as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch for 35 years, retiring in 2013.

He was very active in the Lower Macungie Garden Club.

Throughout his life he had a passion for ice skating and everything trains. He was always in awe of a beautiful sunset.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.

He is survived by his wife, of Milton; daughters, Gwen, wife of Graham Youngblood, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; Megan, wife of Brett Cortesi, of Johnston, R.I., Meredith, wife of Aiji Graham, of Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Dr. Linda W. Hobson, of Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren, Olive, Ivy, Violet, Elliot, Albion and Ozzy.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. June 18 at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. A reception and visitation will be held following the ceremony.

Contributions may be made in his name to Health Wagon (Wise, Va.) or the American Heart Association.
