Ray N. Helfrich Jr.

Ray “Redsy” N. Helfrich Jr., 65, of Macungie, died April 3, 2022, in Manor Care, Allentown, surrounded by family after a battle with glioblastoma cancer. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ray N. Helfrich Sr. and Grace (Schmoyer) Helfrich.

He was employed by Caloric in Topton as a welder for many years until the plant closed. He then worked for Deka Battery in Topton for several years before being employed by Lower Macungie Township and holding various other positions.

He was a long-time member of the Macungie VFW, Alburtis Rod and Gun Club, Emmaus Fire Company #1 and The Mercantile Club.

His favorite hobby was stock car racing and he could always be found at Grandview Speedway watching his favorite driver, Brett Kressley. He also frequented Big Diamond Speedway. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin.

He is survived by his companion, Sheri Corradetti; a daughter, Tiffany and her husband, Lee Fenstermaker, of Macungie; a son, Kyle and his wife, Kara, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Ryan, Cheyenne and Katie; step-grandchildren, James Fenstermaker, Tuesday Morrison and Kane Morrison; brothers, Eugene and his wife, Carol, of Nazareth, Rodney and his wife, Carla, of Allentown; a sister, Renee and her husband, Stephen Ward, of West Virginia; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Randy.

Services will be held 3 p.m. April 9 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
