Northampton police

Northampton police responded to these and other calls recently.

MARCH 11

Traffic stops were conducted in the 700, 900 and 2100 blocks of Main Street, the unit block of Laubach Avenue, the 1500 block of Canal Street, at East Ninth and Main streets, at Canal and West 14th streets and at Newport Avenue and West 17th Street.

A suspicious vehicle in the 1800 block of Main Street was reported.

A suspected DUI case was investigated in the 2000 block of Canal Street.

Officers assisted females in the 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue and the 1400 block of Laubach Avenue and assisted Northampton County Adult Probation to check on the welfare of a female in the 1600 block of Newport Avenue.

In the 1700 block of Main Street, a hit and run occurred. The driver-side mirror of a legally parked vehicle was struck. The offending vehicle - reportedly a four-door royal blue Dodge Ram 1500 with a smaller bed - left the scene.

Police responded to a neighbor complaint in the 1600 block of Poplar Street.

Suspicious activity in the 2400 block of Cherryville Road was reported.

Officers investigated a report of a juvenile problem in the 2200 block of Northampton Avenue.

MARCH 12

Traffic stops were conducted in the 1200 block of Newport Avenue, the 1600 block of Laubach Avenue, at East Fourth Street and Willow Way, the 300 and 900 blocks of Main Street, at Newport and Laubach avenues and at West 14th Street and Newport Avenue.

At Main and East Second streets, a report of a suspicious male had police at the scene.

Officers responded to a neighbor complaint in the 2100 block of Hokendauqua Avenue.

Harassment in the 100 block of Jeffrey Lane was reported.

MARCH 13

A suspicious vehicle in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue was reported.

Police assisted females in the 600 block of Main Street and the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue.

In the 2100 block of Hokendauqua Avenue, a report of a neighbor issue was addressed.

Officers checked on the welfare of a female in the 1600 block of Canal Street.

Traffic stops were conducted in the 700 block of Main Street, at Greenview Drive and Howertown Road, at Wynnewood and East 10th streets, at Northampton Avenue and East 10th Street and at Main Street and Lerchenmiller Drive.

MARCH 14

A dog barking in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue was reported.

Police assisted a female in the 1000 block of Main Street.

A suspicious male in the 1800 block of Newport Avenue was filed with the department.

Sgt. Michael Buchanan and K-9 Vito conducted a search of an impounded vehicle in the 1400 block of Laubach Avenue.

MARCH 15

At East Fourth Street and Howertown Road, a hit and run was investigated. The report said a vehicle at a stop sign was struck from behind by a small silver/gray two-door vehicle. The driver, a white male about 20 years old, pulled up alongside the struck vehicle and asked the other driver to pull up on the side of road. When that occurred, the driver of the offending vehicle reportedly drove away.

Officers assisted a male and a female in the 1400 block of Laubach Avenue.

Police checked on the welfare of a female in the 1300 block of Stewart Street.

In the unit block of West 21st Street, a report of a disturbance was investigated.

A traffic stop was conducted in the unit block of East 21st Street.

MARCH 16

Traffic stops were conducted in the 900 block of Main Street, the 300 block of Howertown Road and at East Fourth Street and Howertown Road.

A suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of East 11th Street was reported.

Officers conducted an unemployment fraud case in the 600 block of East Ninth Street.

Police checked on the welfare of a male in the 1800 block of Main Street and on a female in the 2000 block of Center Street.

Reports of harassment were investigated in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue and in the unit block of East 13th Street.

Officers assisted a female in the 500 block of Washington Avenue.

A domestic dispute between a male and a female took place in the 200 block of West 27th Street.

Members of the department responded to a disturbance in the 1000 block of Main Street.
