Coplay: Pickup is April 8, 9 for St. John’s Lutheran Church filling sale

Pickup dates for the St. John’s Lutheran Church filling sale are April 8 and 9 at the church, 18 S. Third St.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative is holding bingo April 10 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St.

Doors open 1 p.m., and the game will begin 2 p.m.

The Coplay Cemetery Association will meet 11:45 a.m. April 10 in the social hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St. All are invited to join the group.

American Club of Coplay is restarting its monthly hoagie sales.

Dates are April 13, 19 and 20.

Offerings include tuna or regular hoagies or tuna or ham and cheese sandwiches.

The annual egg hunt will be 1 p.m. April 16 at St. Peter Church.

It is for children age 10 and under.

Coplay yard waste pickup is set to begin April 22.

Grass will no longer be picked up.

There is a drop-off location at 1 Bridge St. Drop-off hours will be 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

A craft fair is planned for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 23 and 24 at Saylor Park, Second and Keefer streets.

The heritage committee of Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning a Viennese ball 3-6 p.m. April 24. Suggested attire is black tie, including tuxedo or suit for men and ballgown or fancy dress with hair adornments for women. Enjoy an elegant event like Austrian royalty of the 1800s.

The Emil Schanta Band will provide entertainment.

Coplay’s Parkway Pool is accepting applications for lifeguards. The deadline to apply is April 29.

Also needed is a person or organization to operate the concession stand at the Coplay pool.

Street sweeping in the borough is scheduled May 19 and 20.

All vehicles must be removed from the streets on sweeping days.

Watch for the no-parking signs on your street on sweeping days.

Coplay Public Library needs a board member, workers and a library director.

Coplay Mayor Stephen Burker is developing a “staycation” document containing all the activities a Coplay resident can enjoy throughout the summer without leaving the borough.

Coplay Food Bank is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. The food bank is located in the lower level of the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.
