After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Boutique at the Rink cancer support fundraiser is scheduled to resume and planning for the 2022 Boutique, which is held at the Earl A. Schaffer Municipal Ice Rink, has been underway for months. Recent events have generated in excess of $200,000 annually which benefits the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley, St. Luke’s Cancer Center and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Hundreds of volunteers prepare the event, which is supported by thousands of area residents through donations, sponsorships and shopping.
This year marks the 46th anniversary of the Boutique, which is scheduled to begin on May 31 Premiere Night from 4 to 9 p.m. ($10 entry fee), June 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (full price day), June 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (half price day), June 3 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (half price day) and June 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (bag day).
Volunteers will begin accepting donations at the ice rink May 6 through 21. Donations are accepted on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesdays, Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on those dates. New and gently used items that are accepted include: antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing and accessories, house wares, women’s accessories, men’s women’s and children’s clothing, lingerie, jewelry, babies’ items, toys, linens, men’s, women’s and children’s shoes, small appliances, games and sports equipment. The Boutique does not accept: furniture, TVs, phones, computers, luggage, electronics, books and cassette/VHS tapes.
