“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” conjures enchantment on the stage, 7 p.m. April 8, 9 and 2 p.m. April 10, auditorium, Notre Dame High School, 3417 Church Road, Bethlehem Township.
Executive Director for Theatre Sharon Morris-Lencheski is assisted by Theatrical Director Caitlin Bach, Choreographer Erin Griffith and Company Manager Joseph Cortez.
With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and book by Linda Woolverton, the musical is adapted from Disney’s Academy Award-winning 1991 animated feature film of the same title. The film is based on the French fairy tale, “La Belle et la Bête,” by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont published in 1740.
The 1994 Broadway production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, receiving one Tony Award.
Song include “Gaston,” “Belle,” “Be Our Guest,” “Human Again” and “If I Can’t Love Her.”
