Deliver meals to home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities for Meals On Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley. Eight convenient pickup locations and pre-delivery training is provided; routes start 10 a.m. each weekday. Join the family of volunteers and help improve the health, well-being and independence of those served. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 with adult. Do you have a people friendly furry friend (dog/cat) who would love to visit others and be showered with affection, while bringing smiles and joy to residents one day a week, for about one hour? Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab will interview animals and their owners and require pet health documents and COVID-19 vaccine cards for pet owner. Minimum age to volunteer is 13 with adult. The Center For Animal Health and Welfare, Easton, is seeking volunteers to walk dogs, assist with morning cleanings, attend off site events to promote the shelter, cat and dog enrichment and general shelter help. The Center for Career Pathways at the Allentown campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College needs adults 21 and older with a bachelor’s degree in any field to tutor in English as a Second Language, math, reading, writing, social studies and science. Where to take the bikes you are no longer using? Community Bike Works is looking for volunteers to coordinate bike drives within your family, workplace and social networks. They accept bikes in any condition. Their focus is 20-inch wheels and larger. If you gather the bikes, they’ll pick them up if you have 10 or more. Every two seconds someone needs blood. Miller-Keystone Blood Center canteen attendants offer a drink and a snack to blood donors after the donation process is complete while ensuring the donor is feeling well for at least 15 minutes. Shifts available are noon to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30-7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 7:30-11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Hamilton Donor Center, Allentown. Join the fight against sex trafficking in the Lehigh Valley. Support The Valley Against Sex Trafficking in the planning of the annual VOICES fundraiser. This event will be held Sept 22 in Bethlehem. Assemble weekend meal bags for students and help in the food pantry 9-11 a.m. every Monday at the Wilson Area LINCS Family Center, Easton. They could also use assistance to pack items in boxes, deliver curbside and load into cars and break down cardboard boxes. The minimum age to volunteer is 12 with adult.
