John R. Genevese, 80, of North Catasauqua, died March 24, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Sylvia A. (Almond) Genevese for 61 years.

He was the son of the late Adam A. and Anna M. (Madea) Genevese.

He worked for the Phoenix Forging Company, Catasauqua, for 38 years. He retired February 2002. He also worked as a security guard for 39 years, with the last 23 years with Graham Security Police Inc.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Rose Ann M. and her husband Ronald G. Matika of Northampton; a sister, Barbara and her husband Barry Batz of Northampton; two grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Elyse Matika and Meagan Matika, both of Northampton; two great-grandchildren, Mia and Cameron; a sister-in-law, Mildred Genevese of Allentown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Albert; and sister, Virginia Fodor.
