EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mother’s name is Rupali, my father’s name is Manish and my older brother’s name is Ayush.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is physics. I always loved to do the labs as that gave me a way to utilize what I learned in a realistic situation while still having fun.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received a combination of principal’s honor roll and honor roll throughout all four years of high school.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I have been on the tennis team for all four years of high school, was on the robotics team this year, employed at Panera Bread and am a member of National Honor Society. COVID-19 has had a very negative impact on the activities such as the clubs I was involved in last year, were all held online and I didn’t have the interaction I would have if we were in person. In 10th grade, our tennis season got cut short due to the sudden rise of COVID-19 which also led to the Eastern Pennsylvania Conferences getting canceled which I was looking forward to.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge so far would be deciding on which college I would be going to in the fall. Having to weigh out the pros and cons of each college has been difficult as some colleges have some things I like but don’t have the other essentials I’d like to have in order to have a successful career.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is graduating from an engineering school for mechanical engineering, specificallyautomotive if possible in hopes to pursue a career in the automotive industry.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire both my parents as they started from having nothing to the point where they both are now successful engineers. They are very hardworking and determined in anything they do. They have had a very crucial part in developing me as a person.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for my determination and kindness.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. One piece of advice I have for my peers is to not overthink and just to live life day by day as time goes by very quickly.
