Alice B. Gross

Alice B. Gross, 92, of Northampton, died March 27, 2022, at ProMedica Nursing Home, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Wallace J. Gross, who died in 1978.

Born in Rutherford, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Carl Bielke and the late Frances (Glock) Bielke-Mierisch and stepdaughter to the late Emil Mierisch.

She was last employed by LaMar Management Inc./Hampton House, Northampton, as the secretary from 1988 to 1995, with several years of continued part-time assistance. She served as a state certified emergency medical technician from 1976 to 1981. She then became a paramedic from 1981 to 1988.

She was a member of the Northampton Emergency Squad 1976-1990, holding positions of training officer, secretary and vice president. She was a former member of the Mutual Advanced Life Support Unit/Medic 75, where she held positions of secretary, vice president and president. She was a member of the former Allen Township Ambulance Corp. and held the position of secretary. She was a CPR and EMT instructor and evaluator for the American Heart Association.

She was a longtime member, former vice president and membership chairperson at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Young at Heart group, member and past secretary of the former Northampton Senior Ladies and Northampton Lioness Club, where she was vice president and president for many years.

She is survived by three sons, Kevin and his wife Valerie of Northampton, Barry and his wife Lisa of Walnutport and Brian and his wife Nancy of New Tripoli; a daughter, Karen and her husband Paul Slimmon of Breinigsville; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Keith; a granddaughter, Melissa Laub; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Gross.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. March 31 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
