With the arrival of spring, Notre Dame students have much to look forward to now that winter is over. Spring sports, activities, fundraisers and many other events will be taking place, but the most exciting of them all is the return of Notre Dame’s spring musical.
The spring musical is a special occasion that only comes around once a year, and unfortunately due COVID-19 and ithe nationwide shutdown it caused, we have not been able to have a spring play since 2019, when Notre Dame students performed their last show, “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” before the lockdown and the last of their high school career.
But now that things have changed, Notre Dame will finally be putting on its first musical in three years, “Beauty and The Beast.”
“I am a little nervous, but mostly excited and I can’t wait for everyone to see it,” said Sheila Miller, the actress portraying Belle.
The cast and crew have been diligent in their work since early January. They have been practicing anytime and anywhere they get the chance, sometimes staying after school until 5 p.m. They have also added a 14-foot wooden extension coming from the stage to make the acting area bigger to improve the experience and make the play that much better.
Join us to watch Notre Dame’s amazing cast and crew finally get back up on stage after this prolonged wait, and celebrate the first musical in three long years. Come watch “Beauty and The Beast,” April 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. and April 10 at 2 p.m. We invite everyone to attend this wonderful musical and appreciate theatrical return to Notre Dame.
