The Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of a new fitness center in the valley March 3.

Unrivaled Nutrition and Fitness, a training facility, opened in the former Pet Valu location at the Giant shopping plaza on Leithsville Road. It offers traditional workout equipment, along with nutritional counseling, personal training and small-group fitness classes.

Owner John Rainis said that the facility is not meant to compete with open-membership facilities like Planet Fitness and other big-box chains, or smaller local facilities like Main Street Gym. Rather, its aim is a more personalized overall fitness experience for those who are looking to take their training to the next level or even mitigate a health condition.

Rainis is a Schuylkill County native who has practiced personal training and worked as a nutritionist locally, including out of an office located in Bethlehem Township.

In a press release, Rainis thanked his team, as well as the community at large, for supporting his business venture.

“Opening this facility, and reaching a major milestone like this can only be achieved through incredible teamwork,” he said. “I am honored to work alongside some of the best in the business, and want to publicly acknowledge the dedication and commitment of everyone involved in this process for their extraordinary efforts to get the facility up and running.”

The dog-friendly facility, which held a soft opening Feb. 1, also offers a limited selection of nutritional supplements and other items for sale, and more information can be found on its Facebook page.
