THE CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY of the Greater Lehigh Valley launched Jan. 31 a bi-monthly Image Recovery Program, sponsored by the Ryan Family Foundation. The program is designed to help people improve their body image and sense of self during and after cancer therapy. Topics: one-on-one support in nutrition; fitness; post-surgical garment services; psychosocial support; and education focused on oral hygiene, skin care, hair care, holistic practices and other areas.
BETHLEHEM CHAPTER DAR Good Citizens Award ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. April 7 in the DAR Memorial House, Rose Garden, Eighth Avenue and Union Boulevard. Students and their schools who are scheduled to read their contest entry essays are Ellen Trunzco, Bethlehem Catholic HS; Julia Konschnik, Freedom HS; Andee Gluchowski; Liberty HS; and Vincent Menichelli, Moravian Academy. Various scholarships will be awarded to all contestants. The overall winner will receive a larger amount.
