The Bach Choir and The Bach Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Bach Choir of Bethlehem Artistic Director and Conductor Greg Funfgeld, has two Bach Choir premiere performances: Maurice Durufle’s “Requiem” and George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah, Part 2,” the latter rescheduled from 2020 because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic shutdown. The Bach Choir performed Handel’s “Messiah, Part 1” in December 2019. Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus will be performed for the first time by the Bach Choir. Soloists are: Ellen McAteer, soprano; Meg Bragle, mezzo-soprano; Daniel Taylor, counter-tenor; Benjamin Butterfield, tenor; and Daniel Lichti, bass-baritone. Allen, who does “family-friendly comedy,” is known for the movies, “Happy Wife, Happy Life, Revisited,” “Bananas,” “Thou Shalt Laugh” and “Apostles of Comedy.” Allen began his career in 1978 in Chicago comedy clubs.
