The Center for Career Pathways at the Allentown campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College needs adults 21 and older with a bachelor’s degree in any field to tutor in English as a Second Language, math, reading, writing, social studies and science. Times are flexible dependent upon your schedule. Work virtually or in-person in the adult literacy program. Materials and resources are provided. Will you speak up for a child who needs you? Lehigh County Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers gather information about the circumstances of children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse and/or neglect. Deliver meals to home-bound seniors and adults with disabilities for Meals On Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley. Eight convenient pickup locations and pre-delivery training; routes start 10 a.m. each weekday. Join our family of volunteers and help improve the health, well-being and independence of those we serve. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 with an adult. Every two seconds someone needs blood. Miller-Keystone Blood Center canteen attendants offer a drink and a snack to blood donors after the donation process is complete while ensuring the donor is feeling well for at least 15 minutes. Shifts available are noon to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 7:30-11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Hamilton Donor Center, Allentown. PROJECT BLUEPRINT is a leadership development program designed to help nonprofit organizations develop boards that are reflective of the culturally diverse communities they serve. Diverse volunteers are invited to attend the eight virtual sessions scheduled 5:15-7 p.m. Wednesdays, March 23 to May 18 (no session May 11.) Coordinated by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. Stanley Llama and the pigs, goats, horses, ponies, alpacas and other animals would love to meet you! The Gress Mountain Ranch in Orefield needs volunteers to assist with their daily feeding and watering. Small groups also needed to help with grounds maintenance, composting and cleaning of stalls.
