Catasauqua: J4 Celebration planning meeting scheduled for March 24

The next meeting of the J4 planning committee for the Catasauqua/North Catasauqua celebration will be 7 p.m. March 24 at the North Catasauqua Municipal Building, 1066 Fourth St.

The celebration begins 11 a.m. July 2 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St., and will end with fireworks at dusk at the Alumni Field football stadium, 850 Pine St.

The committee is asking for contributions to help with the event.

All donors will be listed in the J4 newsletter, which will be delivered to all homes in both boroughs in May.

Businesses that give donations of $200 or more will be listed as a special donor. Businesses and individuals who give $100 or more will be listed as a red patron; those who give $50 to $99 will be listed as a white patron; and donors who give $49 and under will be listed as a blue patron.

Make checks payable to J4 Celebration and send to J4 Committee, P.O. Box 224, Catasauqua, 18032.

Payments should be sent by April 11.

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St., will have its next all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m.-noon March 27.

On the menu are scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, SOS, home fries, French toast, juice, coffee and tea.

The public is invited.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a half-price sale on everything in the store, unless otherwise marked.

The sale ends April 2.

Business hours at the shop are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The women of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., are planning a flea market, basket raffle and bake sale event, set for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 9.

There will be knickknacks, household items, kitchen gadgets, books, puzzles and children’s items.
