We receive calls from residents that are concerned about postal delays and receiving timely credit for their payments. Postmark dates are honored for timely credit. Also, we retrieve items placed in the municipal drop box on a daily basis and you will receive same day credit.

Real Estate Tax Payment options: Pay directly at municipal office, by mail or drop box (in front of municipal office main entrance) Online Bill Pay Service for Real Estate Tax Bills: links are provided on the www.bethlehemtownship.org site - payment section. No fee for EFT payments via checking/savings accounts. There is a “convenience fee” of 2.95 per cent for credit card payments. This new online tax payment option operates on a “Pay Now” basis. No registration necessary.

Real Estate Tax Bills: Payable to “Bethlehem Township” All billings are sent to the property owner. Discount, Base and Penalty Due Dates and Amounts are printed on all bills. 2022 tax millage rate – 7.74 mills (7.59 general purpose mills plus 0.15 fire tax mills). Unpaid bills sent for delinquent tax collection as of Jan. 1 each year. Tax bills are mailed out by Feb. 1 each calendar year. Contact theFinance Dept. if you have not received an annual tax bill. NORCO PRISON WORK RELEASE: Director of Corrections James Kostura announces that the Work Release Program, which was suspended Jan. 10, due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, reopened March 14.

No cases of COVID-19 have been reported at Northampton County Prison among the staff or residents in over a month. The last positive result was recorded Feb. 4.

Currently, there are 572 inmates in residence at NCP. The thirty-six inmates out on extended furlough will return next week and will be housed in the facility on South Union Street in Easton. Inmates must be vaccinated for COVID-19 to participate in Work Release program.

GREATER LV CHAMBER: The Chamber presents the Lehigh Valley Mayors’ and Municipal Officials’ Reception on March 31, at Homewood Suites by Hilton, Allentown-Bethlehem-Center Valley. The event celebrates outstanding Lehigh Valley communities. There will be networking with business and community leaders. Township Manager of the Year, Borough Manager of the Year and Mayor of the Year will be awarded.

UNCLAIMED PROPERTY SEARCH: State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh, will host an unclaimed property search event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17 at her district office to aid residents of the 133rd District in claiming what is rightfully theirs.

No appointments are necessary. Residents may also call 610-266-1273 and a member of McNeill’s staff will help complete the search over the phone. McNeill cautions residents to ignore any solicitations that offer to conduct searches of the database for a fee. To find out if one has unclaimed property, search the name in the Unclaimed Property database at www.patreasury.gov/Unclaimed/Search.html; call 1-800-222-2046; or contact McNeill’s office at 610-266-1273. There is no charge to claim unclaimed property.
