Lehigh Township: Hope youth group selling Easter pies; pickup set for April 16

The youth group at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, is selling pies from Perkins Restaurant in time for Easter. Flavors include apple, caramel apple, cherry, wild berry, pecan, pumpkin, coconut cream, pumpkin cream, peanut butter silk and French silk.

The sale will begin March 20 with online orders. Go to youth.hopecherryville.org.

In-person orders will be taken after services March 27 and April 3.

You can pay when you pick up your order. Pie pickup is set for April 16.

Hope Lutheran Church is continuing its services 7 p.m. every Wednesday during the Lenten season, utilizing Holden evening prayer - a favorite liturgy for many members.

Spiritual practices explored will be nurturing devotion, March 23; recognizing our shadow side, March 30; transformation, April 6; and compassion, April 14.

The church will also offer services 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday exploring the practice of compassion. This year, the theme is Spiritual Practices - Your Prescription for Lent.

Hope Lutheran Church will be collecting items for the residents at Gracedale Nursing Home for Easter. Donations can be dropped off 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the church until April 7.

Items being collected are large- and regular-print puzzle or word search books, coloring books, colored pencils and crayons, small packs of tissues, sugar-free Jell-O cups, sugar-free pudding cups, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The shampoo, conditioner and shower gel must be regular-sized bottles, not hotel bottles.

Lehigh Township Historical Society is holding its Finally Spring Basket Social April 3 at Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association, 4190 Wood Drive, Walnutport. Doors open noon, and the drawing is set for 3:30 p.m. You do not need to be present to win. Winners will be notified to pick up baskets no later than 5 p.m. the day of the event.

There will be a great selection of themed baskets, premium items, gift cards, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and baked goods. Food and beverages will be for sale.

Tickets will be sold at the door.

Items can be donated by calling 610-440-0151.

Proceeds go to the LTHS museum and St. Paul’s Schoolhouse building maintenance fund.
