Various programs offered at Parkland Community Library
Masks are optional at the Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall.
Curbside pickup is available for all.
For the safety of all, the library asks people who feel ill, to not come inside.
Patrons who are visibly sick or coughing/sneezing excessively will be asked to leave.

The library will host its Home School Hangout program for students ages 5 to 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 11 and 22 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.
This program is open to home schooled students who reside in the Parkland School District.

The library’s LEGO WeDo Robotics for kids in third through fifth grade will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 12 in the Karen Tamerler Children’s Meeting Room.

Builder’s Club for kids ages 4-7 will take place 2-2:45 p.m. March 12 in the Karen Tamerler Children’s Meeting Room.
Kids are invited to use their imagination to build with wooden blocks, LEGO, K’NEX and more.
There will be a new building challenge each month.

Kids in first through third grade are invited to join library staff to discuss the novel “Pirates Past Noon” and do activities based on the Magic Treehouse series at its Magic Tree House Book Club at 6:30 p.m. on March 14 in the Karen Tamerler Children’s Meeting Room.

Join yoga instructor Deanna Nagle for her gentle yoga for adults from 4-5 p.m. March 15 and 22 at the library.
She will guide participants through a range of motions to improve energy and focus, decrease pain in the body, and calm the central nervous system.

PCL Book Club will meet to discuss the novel “The Paris Library” by Janet Skeslien Charles at 7 p.m. March 15 at the library.

The Teen Drawing Club for kids in grades five through 10 will take place 6:30 p.m. March 16 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.

The library will host a DIY Day for adults 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on March 17 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.

The movie “The Parent Trap” will be shown at Retro Movie Night for adults 6-8 p.m. March 17.

Young Critics Book Club for third through sixth graders will discuss the novel “Gregor the Overlander” by Suzanne Collins at 6:30 p.m. March 17 in the Karen Tamerler Children’s Meeting Room.

The library’s Encanto Party for kids ages 4 and older will take place from 10-11 a.m. March 19 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.
There will be games, crafts and more.

Adults, join library staff to hear the stories of women innovators who were often overlooked from Lillian Moller Gilbreth to Hedy Lamarr 2:30-3:30 p.m. March 19 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.
Learn how these “Mothers of Invention” changed our lives, yet their accomplishments were all too often ignored, discounted, or credited to others.

Kids ages 4-10 are invited to join yoga instructor Larissa Noto from the Lovely Little Lotus for a virtual Kids Yoga Story Time program hosted via Zoom 4-4:30 p.m. on March 21.

A Teen Dungeon and Dragons Night in-person meeting for students in seventh through 12th grade from 6-8 p.m. March 21 at the library.

Family Story Time for families with children ages 1-5 will be offered 10-10:30 a.m. March 22 and 23 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms at the library.
There will be songs, rhymes, and read-aloud stories.

The library will be hosting its biweekly Facebook video series “Let’s Talk Books” for adults 10:30 a.m. March 22 to spotlight a new book at the library.

Family Story Time 2 for kids ages 1 to 5 will take place 11-11:30 a.m. March 22 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.
There will be read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes.

A game night for adults will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. March 22 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms at the library.

A Preschool Story Time and craft for children ages 3-5 will take place at 1:30 p.m. March 23 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms at the library.

Adults are invited to join library staff for a relaxing afternoon of coloring to de-stress, or brain puzzles to stimulate the mind 3:30 p.m. March 23 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.
Coloring pages, colored pencils, and a variety of brain puzzles provided.

Bring your materials and knit with friends, swap crochet tips, or start a new project with the knit and purl group 2:30 p.m. March 24 in the Carol and Perry Zirkel Meeting Rooms.
Yarn lovers of all ages and skill levels welcome.
