Threat to use weapons
Zachary William Keys, 29, of Lehighton, was charged with threatening to use weapons of mass destruction and disorderly conduct after he allegedly threatened his workplace in the 8800 block of Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 11 a.m. Feb. 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident is detailed in a media release as follows: State troopers responded to the business after bomb threats were reported. More than 100 employees were evacuated from the building. Keys allegedly initially denied knowledge of the threats but later allegedly admitted he wrote a threatening message on a wall at the business because he wanted to see how the company would respond.
Drug manufacture
Shawn Stephen Kresge, 30, of Coopersburg, was charged with alleged manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession and use of drug paraphernalia and intent to deliver a controlled substance after Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Vice/Narcotics Unit responded to a clandestine Psilocybin mushroom growing operation in the 7300 block of Leh Street, Lower Milford Township, 9:37 a.m. Jan. 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville and Bethlehem. A search of the property allegedly revealed various items consistent with a clandestine mushroom laboratory. The PSP Clandestine Lab Response Team assisted at the scene, according to state police.
Retail theft
Jose Luis Reyes, 27, of Bethlehem, was placed under arrest for retail theft after he allegedly removed more than $660 in merchandise from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Reyes allegedly removed items, including a car charger for a cellphone valued at $49.96 and laundry detergent and diapers valued at $661.88. State police were called to the store after Reyes was seen on store video surveillance footage dated Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 removing items. While en route to the suspect’s home as part of their investigation, troopers were called back to the store when Reyes allegedly returned to the store where he was taken into custody.
An undisclosed number of televisions were removed from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Two people removed approximately $450 in merchandise from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A 26-year-old female, of Trexlertown, was placed under arrest after she allegedly attempted to remove merchandise valued at $312.58 from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 3:46 p.m. Feb. 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Brandon Andrew Lacurts, 30, of Allentown, was placed under arrest for allegedly removing $276 worth of merchandise from Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:40 p.m. Feb. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Lacurts also was sought on a bench warrant from Delaware, according to authorities.
DUI
A 59-year-old male, of Allentown, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of East Main Street and Knauss Lane in Emmaus borough 11:56 p.m. Feb. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 29-year-old male, of Phillipsburg, N.J., was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after troopers were dispatched to a male found unconscious in a running truck in the 4000 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 9:26 p.m. Feb. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 52-year-old female, of Norristown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 8:42 p.m. Feb. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft from vehicle
A catalytic converter was removed from a vehicle parked at Lehigh Valley Building Systems, 330 Schantz Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 10.
Disorderly conduct
A shopper at Whole Foods, 750 Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, allegedly yelled and created a public nuisance while at the store Feb. 8, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Harassment
A 38-year-old female, of Center Valley, was cited after she allegedly threw food and spit at another person in a parking lot at Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, Feb. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelesville.
Criminal mischief
A screen door was damaged at a residence in the 7000 block of Mountain Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 7 p.m. Feb. 11 and 6 a.m. Feb. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Hit and run
A motorist fled an accident after striking a tree and damaging a yard in the 2600 block of Thistle Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:22 a.m. Feb. 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was southbound, missed a curve and went off the road. Stew’s Tire Center also responded to tow the vehicle from the accident scene.
