Inductees for alumni wall of honor announced
The Parkland School District Education Foundation has announced the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor Inductees for 2022.
The Wall of Honor, inside the main entrance of the high school, was established 10 years ago.
Plaques highlight the inductee achievements and include a current photo as well as the inductee’s Parkland senior picture.
The individuals on the wall serve as an inspiration to all students to achieve excellence and remind the entire community of Parkland’s commitment to a quality educational program.
Inductees will be honored at the foundation’s annual Distinguished Alumni event presented by St. Luke’s in early May.
The 2022 Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor Inductees are:
·Joe Bergstein, Class of 1989, executive vice president and chief financial officer, PPL Corporation.
·Erin Bried, Class of 1992, founder and editor-in-chief, Kazoo magazine/author.
·Jared Brown, Class of 2014, community volunteer; Mikayla’s Voice, Miracle League, Canine Companions, Kernsville Elementary, Camelot for Children, Countless toy/food drives, Good Shepherd, and Veterans’ organizations (Nam Knights, Victory House, Wreaths across America, Wounded Warrior).

Last fall, the Parkland community was invited to nominate alumni/alumna for the Wall of Honor.
Nominees are evaluated on the following criteria:
·Accomplishments in his or her chosen career;
·Volunteer work or acts of service;
·A positive impact on people or contributions to others; and
·Special recognition or awards.
A selection committee comprised of Parkland school district administrators and staff, foundation board members, and community members reviewed the applications and scored them.
The four finalists were then approved by the Foundation board of directors.
