Garden club members hear presentation on Pure Wild Tea

Sherry Fuhrmann presented the program “Pure Wild Tea” to the Parkland Garden Club at their Feb. 14 meeting at Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.

She is chief executive officer of Pure Wild Tea, a family owned business in Bernville, Berks County.

Fuhrmann said her company uses a recipe for making mint tea drink that has been in her Pennsylvania Dutch family for six generations.

She said by preserving family traditions, she is honoring her mother’s memory, who died of cancer at the young age of 48.

Fuhrmann also discussed planting the mint, using no pesticides, herbicides or insecticides, and the process of making the tea and bottling it.

She noted no additives and preservatives are added to the drink.

Fuhrmann and her daughter, Serenity, provided samples of the different flavored tea drinks.

Every member was also given a bottle of flavored mint tea drink to take home.
