William S. Honsel, 90, of Coplay, died Feb. 17, 2022, at home. He was the husband of Yolanda (Suto) Honsel.

Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Spirk) Honsel.

He worked at the former Lehigh Valley Dairy and Beatrice Cheese Inc. for 44 years, before retiring in 1994.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay.

He was very involved with memberships including the Coplay Saengerbund, the American Club of Coplay, Veterans of Foreign Wars Allentown Post, American Legion Post 215 of Catasauqua, Alliance Fire Company of Northampton, Coplay Fire Company and the West Coplay Maennerchor.

He was an avid bowler in the Lehigh Valley area and was a member of the Allentown District Hall of Fame. He bowled in 40 ABC’s tournaments.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Susan and husband John Solt, Carol and husband Robert and Constance; five granddaughters; a brother, James; and two sisters, Anna Yudt and Margaret Hollenbach.

He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Joseph; and three sisters, Berta, Elsa and Pauline.
