Darlene A. Rex

Darlene A. Rex, 91, formerly of Whitehall, died Feb. 26, 2022, at Ocean University Medical Center, Brick, N.J. She was the wife of the late Reynold M. Rex.

Born in Egypt, she was a daughter of the late Dallas J. and Edna M. (Wotring) Hoffman.

She was a secretary and dictaphone operator at Equifax Inc., Allentown, from 1976 to 1983. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Reynold M. Rex Builder, for 39 years before retiring in 1998.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she sang with the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild and ELCW.

She was a charter member of the Whitehall Township Women’s Club. She was a 50-year member of Rose Croix Chapter 235, O.E.S., Catasauqua. She was a life member of the woman’s auxiliary of Albright and Muhlenberg colleges and of the ladies auxiliary of Lehigh Consistory. She was a member of the auxiliary of The Lutheran Home at Topton.

She is survived by two daughters, Reylene A. Starego and her husband Raymond of Brick and Janell H. Rex of Billerica, Mass.; a brother, Carvel D. Hoffman of Bethlehem; and a grandson, Anthony J. Starego of Brick.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Erna R. Feidler and Leona R. Heil.
