Coplay: St. Patrick’s Day event is set
Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will be holding a St. Patrick’s Day event 3-6 p.m. March 13, with music by John and Marie. The O’Grady Quinlan Academy dancers will make a guest appearance 4 p.m.

The next Ironton Rail Trail cleanup day is set for 8 a.m. March 12. Participants should meet at the trailer adjacent to the trail on North Second Street.
Also, there will be an IRT public meeting 7 p.m. March 15 at the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.

The next soup, bread and discussion event is set for 6-7 p.m. March 16 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St. This fellowship event features a simple soup and bread meal and a discussion of current events.

St. John’s is holding a baked ziti dinner, which includes salad, applesauce, dinner roll and dessert, for pickup March 19.
The church is also holding its famous filling sale for pickup, set for April 8 and 9.

The borough is looking for a person or organization to run the Coplay Pool concession stand. People are also needed to fill the positions of pavilion cleaner, pool manager and pool lifeguards. The deadline to apply is March 31.
Additionally, the public works department is planning to hire two part-time summer help workers.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is seeking volunteers to make pierogies.
Contact the church at 610-262-2417 to join the team.
The church is also in need of volunteers for the summer picnic held the first Sunday in August.
St. Peter plans to offer companion niche ossuariums to church members for placement of remains at the cemetery on Hokendauqua Street. They are touted as less costly than a casket burial.
