132nd Legislative District moves west

As a result of redistricting, the 132nd Legislative District is changing.

If I am lucky enough to be re-elected in 2022, I will represent all of South Whitehall and five-eighths of Upper Macungie Township.

This is a significant change to the district I have been privileged to serve for the past 10 years.

Fortunately, there are issues for which I have always advocated that will suit my new constituents well.

I have constantly fought for both the Parkland and Allentown school districts to ensure they have the resources our children deserve.

We have an obligation to educate the future generation and keep our property taxes as low as possible.

This can only happen with continued state support.

Rates of mental illness continue to rise, and suicide remains a huge challenge to our society - particularly among young people.

I have spent my career fighting to break the stigma surrounding mental illness while seeking to increase funding for mental health and ensuring we have more providers to give people the assistance they need.

Finally, the continued development in South Whitehall and Upper Macungie speaks well to our quality of life, but we need to give local governments the tools they need to promote smart growth.

I will fight for more funding to meet our transportation, water, and sewer needs.

I also want to work with local groups and municipal governments to protect our communities from overdevelopment.

I take this work very seriously.

The most important thing I can do is listen to the people who live in the community I hope to serve.

Please, reach out to my office by email at RepSchlossberg@pahouse.net or phone 610-821-5577 to share your thoughts on these or any other issues.
