Sheckler Elementary School’s read-a-thon has begun and will run until April 5.

Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education will next meet 7 p.m. March 8 in the conference room of the district administration building, 201 N. 14th St.

Sheckler Elementary’s kindergarten registration will take place March 11 in the school’s office.

The requirements for students include living within the school boundaries and turning 5 years of age before Sept. 1.

Parents should visit the school’s website, cattysd.org/Domain/185, to complete the initial registration form and schedule the March 11 appointment.

CASD will be closed March 11 for an Act 80 day.

Sheckler is looking to fill the school principal position. Candidates must be Pennsylvania certified, and the position takes effect July 1.
