Salisbury High School names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. Currently, I am a senior at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. I have three brothers who all went to Salisbury, which are Cameron, Collin and Coty. My parents are Sheila and Ron Moyer and I have two dogs, Shelby and Sheldon.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. In school, chemistry and biology are both my favorite subjects because I am very science oriented and enjoy working in labs.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award and MVP awards in swimming and wrestling.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. The sports I participate or have participated in are wrestling, swimming, cross country, soccer and track and field. From COVID-19, the only downside was the fact I wasn’t able to work out with my friends and teammates, so I was forced to do most of it by myself. It makes it a lot easier when you have peers that push you constantly and consistently.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I will be majoring in biochemistry and wrestling at Norwich University.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. To this date, my biggest challenge would be either wrestling with appendicitis during districts or figuring out where I’d like to spend the next four years.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I’d like to be remembered as a multi-sport athlete, not a one-sport or one-talented person. I value being skilled or able to do many things, because I feel that it is more important to be well-rounded. And not just being an athlete, but excelling in school and pushing myself in art or music, which I am not great at.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. Like my brothers, whom I admire, they all became very successful while following their passions, not their talent, which is the reason why I respect them.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Follow your passion over something you may be good at.
