Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the second iteration of the Northampton Area Restaurant Week, set for March 6-12.
A number of Northampton and Bath businesses will be serving eat-in, takeout and special treats for the public. Support local restaurants by stopping in to enjoy discounts and special menus.
“When we hosted our inaugural event last year, restaurants were still at reduced capacity,” said Kylie Adams-Weiss, assistant vice president of affiliated chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We’re happy to see businesses back to normal operations. Even with the challenges still facing our restaurant industry, the participating restaurants have put together some great menus to entice us all to dine locally throughout Northampton and Bath communities.”
Participating restaurants include Mattie Strudel Haus, 126 W. Main St., Bath; Bean Bath Cafe, 2425 Plaza Court, Bath; The Gin Mill and Grille, 1750 Main St., Northampton; Point Phillips Hotel, 943 Point Phillips Road, Bath; Town and Country Restaurant, 350 S. Walnut St., Bath; Bath Exchange, 204 W. Main St., Bath; and more.
Some restaurants will offer special menus where guests can choose two or three courses for a set price. Others will offer special food selections just for this week. Be sure to ask about takeout options as well.
Making reservations and calling ahead are highly encouraged, especially during Restaurant Week.
Jessica O’Donnell, executive vice president of affiliated chambers for GLVCC, noted organizers adapted the Restaurant Week model to fit the needs of the businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Offering this flexibility allows our restaurants to plan ahead with menus and specials that not only reflect their restaurants’ identities, but work within their comfort level to provide great service,” O’Donnell said.
Event sponsors include Koehler Brothers Collision and Repair, gold sponsor; Embassy Bank, supporting sponsor; Town and Country Restaurant, supporting sponsor; and iHeart Media, media sponsor.
“Koehler Brothers are proud to be a part of our community’s Restaurant Week once again,” said Kim Koehler, of Koehler Brothers. “What a great way to support local eateries by experiencing their carefully crafted entrees and tasty libations through this annual event!”
It was noted the Restaurant Week concept continues to build momentum and is generating a lot of local buzz.
Mark Halderman, of event sponsor Embassy Bank and chair of the Northampton Chamber, noted how important it is to get out and support the local businesses, which, in turn, betters the community.
“Northampton and Bath’s restaurant scene is so well known and respected within our local community,” Adams-Weiss said. “This is the time to show the Lehigh Valley what we got. Foodies, we should definitely be on your radar.”
